Are you familiar with the Frontend Masters platform? It's a platform I absolutely love ❤️ . Today, I'd like to talk about an interesting course I recently completed, titled "Getting a Front-End Developer Job" by Jerome Hardaway, who's also known by "Captain America." Cool name, right? 😎

Throughout this course, I gained valuable insights into enhancing both of my resume and portfolio, to make them more appealing and professional. Moreover, I discovered the range of tools that will give me a competitive edge, and most notably, I learned about the HR users and how to catch their eyes 👀.

There is a saying in tech says: "getting a job is a job itself" 🧠. So let me share with you guys the bunch of the things that I've learned and which i believe will help to get a job:

Understanding HR Users:
- BOTS: These automated systems scan resumes based on skills.
- HR Recruiters: They're influenced by the resume/portfolio design and fast loading.
- Tech Community: The more you're known in the tech world (via LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.), the more appealing you become.

Essential TECH Tools:
- Basic Skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Advanced Skills: Web Accessibility, API usage, Design Systems, SEO, and understanding Serverless tech.

Writing the Right Resume:
- Introduction: Showcase who you are with diligence rather than just passion. Mention ongoing projects and use relevant tech terminology.
- Education: Highlight relevant experiences first, including university, bootcamp, and certifications, lead with projects. Mention courses if you've completed a full path.
- Experience: Emphasize relevant roles with job descriptions, tools used, and impact. Include internships, volunteer work, freelance projects, and even non-tech jobs with a focus on soft skills.

Building an Impressive Portfolio:
- Optimize your GitHub account with a polished profile, pinned projects, the usage of plugings and repo activities.
- Keep your portfolio user-friendly, infused with your personality. Feature your top three projects and include a contact form. Minimize the use of CSS libraries.
- Utilize platforms like CodePen to capture HR attention.

Creating Engaging Content:
- Share content consistently on networks like LinkedIn, Dev.to, Twitter, and Twitch.
- Continuously work on new projects and share them with the world.
- Expand your professional network by connecting with others.
